Established in 1977, our Dance Academy's policy is one of individual attention and proper training in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The dancer is the product of their teacher. Desire is an asset, but to attain success as a dancer you must receive your training from teachers who are professionally trained experts. The staff takes an interest in our students abilities, weaknesses, progress, and achievements. Our teachers are graduates of the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. The entire staff gives of their talent and energy to all their students. Their love of dance generates their love to teach dance. Our goal is to transmit this love of dance and music to our students. We invite you to choose our Academy to introduce the Art of Dance.
Elysian Dance Company
The Elysian Dance Company was formally established in June 1984. Our company is unique in many aspects. Primarily, we are using young, talented dancers and new choreographers who are graduates or students of the University of the Arts. The primary purpose of this company is to raise funds for the Elizabeth Ann Pulaski Memorial Scholarship fund at the University of the Arts and Saint Hubert High School. This scholarship was established in 1981, after the untimely death of Elizabeth Ann who was in her junior year at the college. Two scholarships are awarded yearly to a talented student of the college who has financial need to continue their dance education. In the year 2000, a scholarship was started at St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, where Elizabeth graduated from in 1979. This scholarship is awarded to a dance club member at the high school to be applied toward their tuition the following year.
Another purpose of the company is to provide a performing platform for dancers and new choreographers to give them an opportunity to exhibit their talents in a professional atmosphere. The sources from which these talents are being tapped are the University of the Arts, Temple University, and Anna Marie's Academy of Dance.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the scholarship fund may do so by sending a check payable to the Elizabeth Anne Pulaski Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o University of the Arts, 320 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19102, ATTN: Development Department.
